Therapy job for my gentle dog?

I want to take my dog and give her a job like visit hopsitals and such becuase she is extremely gentle and extremely smart. I need to know where I can find organizations for dogs to volunteer at the hospitals. websites would be great! Thanks! she's an australian shepherd and extremely well trained.

To be a service dog they do have exams they have to pass. Your best bet is to contact a animal behavior trainer in your area, they could lead you in the right direction on how to get her licensed. She also has to be insured.

She'll need to get Canine Good Citizen certified first (needs to be 6 months old for that), and then she needs some Therapy Dog certification (my dog is through Therapy Dogs International, and they need to be 1 year old before they can take the test and be certified).

Ask your local hospitals, rehab centers, and seniors' homes if they take part in therapy dog programs and what organizations they use for them. well soy i think it all depends on if you're dog is full grown or a puppy still they don't allow puppies (often) into hospitals
