How to sow a graphic design on a leg portion of jeans w/out sowing the whole thing?

I will admit in a rookie when it comes to sowing and i want to design my own pants in the future. The only problem is: how am i going to be able to design the leg portion without sowing the leg potion together. I'm looking for experienced users answers only. Also, i already thought about removing the sown thread from the side of the leg to be able to work on the leg portion. If that's the only option let me know. Thanks. its the outside portion, and thx for catching my mistake.

Which leg portion? The inside or outside seam? The top half or the bottom half? Do you have a picture of what you're trying to do because I have no clue. BTW, its sewing.
