if a US citizen moves to Toronto then there looks for a job and is hired, can that person then apply for visa?

can a person get a job, for example, as an administration assistant and still qualify for the visa? or how about a less demanding job? And where can a person apply for this visa? approximately amount of time it takes to acquire visa? does a person have to return to US?

US citizens may enter Canada without a visa for up to 180 days. But this is for tourism only. You must have sufficient funds for all the "typical tourist" expenses. You cannot work. You cannot look for a job... More

You can do this IF you have a degree that qualifies you for a "TN Visa" (do a yahoo search for it).To get the TN visa you have to go back to the US but can re-enter right away... More
