Our system is set up to pay teachers and journalists low amounts, why are cons shocked they're liberal?

all but the VERY TOP levels of teaching and journalism have very low pay... conservatives, on average, value higher wages more than's basically inherent in their political philosophy... (better jobs pay more, better people work better jobs, I want to be a better person) find someone who says "those who can't do, teach"... usually a conservative... have cons basically allowed the system to be set up to exclude them from these two professions... on average... of course, there are some exceptions... EDIT: when teachers make more... more conservatives will try to be one... EDIT: I said "THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS"... do you think most billionaires are liberal? for the education needed... it pays very low... around 15-25 an hour... with a college degree... sometimes a masters... on average.... look it up if you don't believe me... more in cities of course... most billionaires are liberal? I would think most are high level businessmen? CEOs and such... that's news to me... it's not like offending me to call liberals rich... and Hollywood is more about talent than skill or education... it's a freak thing... you don't "go to school to be Tom Cruise" so... on average, you think liberals care just as much about how much money they make as conservatives? I'm talking on average here... billionaires make up like .000007 percent of the population... do you have any other example that supports your idea besides one FREAKISHLY EXTREME EXAMPLE? that's NYC schools... do you know the cost of living in NYC... the average wage in NYC? IT'S WELL ABOVE 40 AN HOUR... is there one conservative that doesn't think in the most extreme examples possible? one that understands most actors don't earn 20 million? most liberals aren't billionaires? one that understands what average means? yeah... average pay by state... that's good... the No. 25 state... NC... that's 22 an hour... with a college degree...fairly low... and clearly below 25 that drops... man... average pay... OVER ALL LEVELS AND ALL EDUCATION... ALL EXPERIENCE... 56 isn't' that good... it's better than bob at the plumber... MAYBE... but he didn't go to college for years either... name me a degree field that's worse as an average over all experience levels? I know some journalists... I don't know ANY that make anywhere, even half, $100,000... not saying they aren't out there... just that you'll find more plumbers that are millionaires... Herald... why didn't you put in what said for teachers? apples to apples? it would go a long way in proving your point? and don't you have to put in a city for these? what information did you use? I don't think it compares very well... and it's more like 3 months off now... and most jobs get a month of vacation.... so it's like two months difference? and more and more teachers are teaching summer school, so the gap is probably narrowing...

I don't know about that. Journalists make pretty good money. I was shocked to find out that some small time local Journalists in my city were making way more than $100,000 a year. Now the Teachers sure do get crappy pay. And they're the ones teaching our future. America really does seem to have her priorities screwed... More
