Korean Exchange Student (Shadowing for a year)?

Okay, mostly this is a question for people attending St. Anthony's High School. I was approached yesterday by the admissions director of some information regarding a foreign exchange student from korea. First of all can someone really explain the meaning of a foreign exchange student. Just because they are from out of state doesn't mean they are foreign exchange students. Second, the admissions director told me that he will be auditing, which means he will not be recieving grades but simply observing the class to improve his english. It has already been decided for him to have the exact same schedule, except for gym, he goes to the boys side of the gym. Do you think I should start practicing my Korean, how should I approach him, how can I find him on the first day of school after the break (first period is free). How do you find your shadow-er. Please any advice on shadowing especially from students of St. Anthony's is appreciated. Please excuse the poor grammar and wording as well as the repetitions. I'm just a bit frazzled by this new experience. I was just informed on the day before the break.

He definitely sounds like an exchange student. Normally students don't just "shadow," unless maybe he might be "scouting" the school to see if he wants to permanently transfer.
