Why does the liberal left favor poor people so egregiously?
Every policy the liberal left seems to come up with favors the poor- giving tax breaks to the poor, giving free health care (on my dime!!) to the poor, giving academic scholarships SOLELY to poor students BECAUSE they are poor. Why is the liberal left ALWAYS favoring the poor? Isn't there a reason why these people are poor in the first place? Shouldn't poor people just take their lumps? Why is my tax money going to assist some poor person that is too lazy and uneducated to make money for themselves?

Liberals despise individual prosperity, private property ownership, and the family. Private property and individual wealth is integral to individualism, and the enemy of the liberal. Liberals are for the middle class, the working people who sometimes fall down on their luck. The conservative party of NO cuts taxes for the rich and wealthy so they can buy another yacht. Which side would want to belong on?

White liberal guilt. It compels them, commands them, controls them.

They don't, they just want to make sure they remain poor and dependent upon the federal government. This keeps them loyal to the democrat base when election time comes around.

It keeps the poor and underprivileged in slavery to the party. They fear if the Dems aren't in power they will die of starvation. So, being brainwashed by Democrats, beholding to Democrats and relying on Democrats they vote for Democrats. Then the Democrats screw them over but they are not educated enough to see it.

Because the people losing their jobs & homes in this terrible economy are just not Dem's. GOP's, independants, in fact all American's are being affected. Your comment about people "just taking their lumps" is typical of the "It's all about me" mentally that the GOP''s seem to wallow in. Dem's want to help all people... More

Liberals favor you and I helping the poor. Most liberals are truly cheap bastards and are very tight with their own money while being overly generous with tax payers money to overcompensate for their own cheapness.
