My 17 month old daughter won't eat?!?!?!?
She susally does go through phases where she wont eat much for a day or so but its been almost 4 days since she has eaten anything more than a few bites. She will drink so i have been giving her Up & Go's (which are the equivelant of 2 weetbix and milk in a tetra pak) what im wondering is if i am doing her more harm than good by giving them to her? Should i be letting her get hungry enough to WANT to eat? She is only a tiny thing so i worry when she wont eat....whats your opinion?? Ok i should have said she hasnt eaten anything but a few bites at each meal....she will have a few mouthfuls of breakfast, lunch and dinner but she is eating less that a 1/4 of what she would usually eat, she isn't fussy or lethargic.

My son did exactly the same at 17 months. It has taken years (he is 10 almost) and he only started eating better at about 7. Stay on her trying to get her to eat as i would hate for you to have to go through what I am. Up & Go is fine for breakfast but not throughout the day. Just keep gicing what you normally give... More

This is a pretty serious thing, so I am not going to pretend like I know what I am talking about, out of respects for you and your baby. But, if I were you, I would call your baby's pediatrician and tell him what is going on.

Is she cutting teeth? As long as she is keeping fluids she should be okay for a while. You said she was eating some, is she fussy or lethargic? If she is acting lethargic then she may not be getting enough to sustain herself. Either way If you are concerened call her pediatrician and express your concerns. I know i've... More

Considering it has been 4 days you should take her to the DR...Im usually pretty nice when answering questions, but seriously? If she hasnt hardly eaten anything at all but a few bites in 4 days, its time to get her to the DR! Common sense... More

She might not be feeling well. Maybe she's teething, does she have her eye teeth yet? They usually come on around 18 months. I'd take her to the doctor, at 17 months i don't think she's being stubborn by not eating. Good luck!
