If the point of the stimulus is to create jobs, why is Obama outraged when a corp remodels a conference room?
The room doesn't exactly remodel itself. It takes an interior designer, furniture manufacturers, construction workers, truck drivers, electricians, engineers, building inspectors, etc. If the rationale is we don't want tax payer dollars going to remodeling, why is Obama hiring the same interior designer to refurbish parts of the White House? If someone who accepts taxpayer money should get no perks, then Obama should be taking the bus instead of Air Force One.

Because of the public outcry about corporate junkets, a lot of firms have cancelled conferences and off-site meetings. The conference centers have laid off thousands of workers as a result.

Sorry, but no one needed a 35K commode from tax payers money. A white board sure. A parchment toilet. Nope.

Especially when it was pre-bailout dollars? He is infested with the Liberalism Mental Disease. Lack of logic.

He is p****d because after the remodeling is done they have to find another job. Obamas plans offer lasting jobs that go for upwards of two years which by that time his jobs outlook should be at least closer to normal than it is now.

Why is the White House being remodeled? Becaue Michelle wants it that way. Let them dig into their pockets and pay for it. How about the seniors who have paid taxes and contributed to the system all of their life and now barley living on a fixed income and facing the infation increase.

It's not the remodel itself - it's the corp that did it. They accepted bail-out money - taxpayers money - that's the difference.

You mixed apples and oranges. The point of the stimulous is to create jobs. The point of the auto and financial bailout are loans to help struggling business. These must be paid back. They must prove need, and remodeling the ceo's office is definately not a need.

Or, when Wells Fargo canceled a Vegas trip for its top performers, did the finger waggers consider the people employed in Vegas who would be hurt since the Wells Fargo people weren't coming? Always, always, be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.
