What type of healthcare job is this?
I want to eventually work in a hospital or any healthcare establishment where I'm working to improve patient quality and patient care. I want to make sure everything is running smoothly, nothing is slipping through the cracks, and that most patients are happy from the time they enter the hospital to the time they leave. What type of healthcare job is this? What type of education do I need to get in this type of position? Thank you.

"Hospital Administrator" is the position. THe pay is $60,000 a year if you keep things running smoothly and address "patient care and the quality of care". You might get the job with a Liberal Arts degree at a 4 year college. Your job is more "people skills" than science and business..

Health care management is what you are looking for. There are many positions you can have in this field. Look at your local college to see if they offer this degree.

Quality assurance You will need first an RN (and experience working as an RN, so you can understand what is and is not "running smoothly") and then a degree in healthcare administration.
