How to being training for mountaineering?
I'm 18 and have always wanted to climb. I want to challenge myself, and see what I'm made of. I would like to know what sort of training I should start since I'm really serious about this. I'm reasonably fit, playing two varsity sports. And I know cardio is a must, and strength training, but does anyone have a workout that has been really successful? Also, I live in South Carolina, probably one of the flattest places ever. I just want to know what kind of workouts will prepare me for high altitude climbing. Thanks everyone.

Mountaineering is an endurance sport...so strength training and cardio...and lots of it. And lots of climbing. Being in SC, you might not get a lot of that - but as Willie pointed out, you could try Colorado. If you can't move there, start taking climbing vacations there.
