Plumbing question, toilet won't flush, gunk backing up into shower drain, water dripping from ceiling?
Hello, I hope some people here have some plumbing knowledge. Tonight I noticed that my toilet wouldn't really flush. It didn't seem to have the power to clear the toilet of water. The toilet would fill up and then slowly drain, but never with the full power of a normal flush. I then noticed that each time I tried to flush it, brown, watery, gunk was backing up out of the bathtub drain. To make matters worse, I then realized that water was dripping from the ceiling in the kitchen(the bathroom is on the 2nd floor over the kitchen). It seems like any time I would try and run water(from any faucet) the drip would pick up. The drip was never an all out gush of water, but just a steady drip. I have now turned off my water, but it is still dripping(hopefully, it will stop). Do any of you happen to have any plumbing knowledge, and possibly know what could be causing this? I thank you all in advance. Please help! Another weird thing, the dripping seems to have picked up AFTER I turned the water off. Weird.. Thanks for the help so far. What do you think could be causing the dripping from the ceiling? Also, it has picked up since I turned the water off...

If they don't find anything, you'll need to borrow or rent a sewer snake and run it through the entire drainage system, starting with the... More

Sounds like a partial blockage in your soil pipe and a small leak in the soil pipe up stream of the blockage.
