Help finding financial help/charity for Leukemia patient?

My mom was diagnosed with Leukemia in January and she's since had to lose her job with not much other income. I'm wondering if anybody can help me find charities that will help her financially? She has applied and been approved for social security income but they will not start giving her money until August and she has no other income now. She has bill collectors calling every 10 mins. Just wondering if anybody else has found help or knows of a program that can?

i'm not sure if they offer help like this or if it's just fund-raising for research, but you might look into if they are only fund-raisers, they still may be able to direct you to someplace that can help in the way your mom needs. good luck!!

How it is possible that a person living with SS check, with Leukemia, is not able to have any kind of help like Medicaid due to the fact that his SS check, which is his only income, is 43 dollars more than the poverty level per year. What about the co-payments, electricity, water, food etc etc. Please advise.
