I read your other question so i know your in the UK (same :/)
I've just done all the looking around places and am getting all my stuff together to apply...so I can help :D
Best: USC
http://cinema.usc.edu/programs/production/video-overview-production.htm watch that and you'll know why...i gave some stats on your other question...you REALLY have to be good to go here...
Middle: NYU, FSU, Bournemouth (UK)
NYU is arguably as good as USC...but I think USC's contacts when you leave push it over the top. FSU is in Florida near Orlando...a great place to go...not the top, but does the job (+ all filming expenses are payed for). Bournemouth is hands down the best place in England...it is the Oxford/Cambridge of media...teaching is by people you have probably watched films of, however...it is as hard to get in to (if you want to do film based subjects) as Oxford/Cambridge is for media...and sometimes you have to have done an Art subject...
Great: ASU, Kent (UK), Gloucester
ASU is with the FSU's of this world...great but not on the same level as USC...Kent has the most established Film Studies Department in England (and I went there a few days ago for an open day...Its great, cinema on site...Professional enthusiastic teachers...can do practical work etc) and Gloucester is a poor man Bournemouth for Production...(i got an interview there in 8 days :s)
Basically I know you want to do Film Studies...but if you want to work in film look at production...its 3/4 years of just making films and learning how to make films....
I am applying to USC, FSU, ASU and have appllied (and got into) Kent, Oxford Brookes, Lancaster, Worcester (other 3 are studies, this is production), and will know if i'm into Gloucester next Tuesday.
If you need more help drop me an email at Rhodri_2@hotmail.co.uk (I cant help you on much, but I can get you started)
