okay well im 15 and ive been inspired to read the bible but..?
i was told that what you should do is not start from the beginning because its boring that you should start on either Matthew or mark then work though luke, john acts ect. but i don't no order to read them in what order would you read the bible in? please don't just say start from the beginning at least i want to read the bible thanks for you're help x

matthew mark luke and john basically tell the same story but in slightly different ways, good for reference. a non-christian said she found matthew a beautiful read, so i alswys recoommend that one, but feel free to read them all... More

Start at the beginning. If you are to get a full grasp of the texts, you have to read all of the texts. Never start with Paul's writings. His should be read last, if read at all.

I'd start in Luke, then Acts. From there you can pretty much pick where you want to go.

Starting with one of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John) is a good place to start. After that, I would read some of the shorter books in the New Testament (Colossians, Philippians, Ephesians, 1 John) and a few selected chapters (Hebrews 11, 1 Corinthians 13, Romans 8). hi just pick it up and read it at random i did it that way every day i found it was like i was being directed in someway to read a certain part..im not a very religeous person but i like the psalms and proverbs good luck and remember dont be afraid to interpretate as you want not how others want you too

The books of "Luke" and "Acts" are written by the same writer and have an engaging prose style so I would recommend reading those two in order. Then I&II Samuel which has the story of king David, also well told, intersperse some random readings from Psalms and Proverbs and you're on your way... More

The Bible tells different parts of Judeo-Christian history and also includes some poetry and allegory and all sorts of things. It's not a "start to finish" book, it's a collection of "start-to-finish" books... More
