I just got my Class A CDL, without a truck driving school could I still get a job with a trucking company?

I got my CDL license from lineman school and am trying to get a apprentice lineman job but it's a long process. I'm considering taking advantage of my new license and driving a truck, I was wondering if trucking companies hire people without any trucking experience that did not go to truck driving school?

yes you can, a trucking school is just a way for people to get a CDL that doesn't know anybody with their own truck or work for a company that has CDL trucks, but let me tell you, at the lineman job you'd drive a straight truck that requires a class B but it would require a class A if your pulling a trailer, so even if... there are large co that would suck to work for that will hire w/ no experience most of the better jobs will require 2 years experience due to insurance

yes, there are such companies, but keep in mind the economy and then realize how many experienced drivers are looking for ANY driving job. Experience will come first.

When it comes to hiring newly licensed drivers, companies most times will chose the driver that got their license through a trucking school rather than one that got it on their own.
