Can I still receive unemployment benefits and start working as a real estate agent?
I've been searching for a job for a while with no luck. I was put on unemployment benefits while searching. I finally decided to get my real estate license while hunting for a job (I used to work as a home loan processor and felt it would aid in a similar line of work). Am I able to still collect unemployment benefits while waiting to get my first sale?

I don't think so. Once you become "self-employed" you're employed and therefore no longer eligible for unemployment. But, you might want to check with the state (anonymously of course) and see what they say.

As long as it's not a fulltime one and you receive unrecorded pay, yup. Otherwise, once the council finds out through the IRA that you're already paying income taxes, they'll immediately figure out your income and the stream from the unemployment benefits will dry out. but even if they make allowances until your first...
