Has anyone heard of Thomas Recruiting?

I have been offered a job from this company to teach ESL in South Korea and cannot seem to find anything on the internet but questions. Here's the follow-up email they sent: Below are the Documents that need to be sent: 1. Criminal Background Check 2. College Degree and 2 Transcripts* 3. 4 "Passport-Sized" Photographs** 4. Resume 5. Self-Health Check Form 6. Copy of Passport 7. Copy of Signed Contract ---------------------------------------- 1. Criminal Background Check and Apostille. (An Apostille is simply a form issued by a state authority that certifies a document is authentic. In this case, the document to be “authenticated” is your background check). First: Go to your local or state police department and obtain the background check document. Second: Have the document authenticated by your state. (This is the Apostille) This is usually done through the Secretary of State’s office in your particular state. We have provided the contact information below. You can call the phone number listed and they should be able to guide you through this process fairly quickly. Once they issue the Apostille document, both it and the actual Background Check should be included in the packet you send. Remember: Be sure to send the Apostille attached to the Background Check! Note: State contacts or links can change but you can always do a Google Search for: “Your State Secretary of State Apostille.” That should find the most current link. 2. Graduating college/university degree, transcripts. Due to some unfortunate occurrences where people have submitted false education documents, Korean schools are very particular about seeing the original of your college degree. Please rest assured, your college degree will be returned to you promptly once you arrive in Korea. We also need 2-copies* 'sealed and stamped' transcripts). It is very important that they be sealed and stamped when we receive them to show they haven't been tampered with. You can order them from your college's registrar office. 3. 4 "Passport-Sized" photos. Just yourself – no “group photos”! These will also be used to verify your work visa. They can be obtained at any local photographer (many WalMart and drug store chains like CVS will do these very inexpensively). Hint: Pictures are very important as this is all the school officials will see prior to meeting you in person. Try not to look too serious or dour. A nice smile and happy expression will say volumes about your personality. Include three photos in the packet of documents and keep one for yourself for later use. 4. A copy of your Resume. 5. A completed Self-Health Check Form. This can obtained here. This is a very simple document to complete. Be honest! http://www.thomasrecruiting.com/documents.html 6. Copy of Passport. A photocopy of your 'identification page' of your passport is all you need here. Make (2) two copies: one to be included in the packet and one for your use later. * If you have not yet received a passport, please modify a Passport Expedition Letter through the link below. Passports can be obtained at most major U.S Post Offices. http://www.thomasrecruiting.com/documents.html 7. Copy of Signed Contract Be sure to include a copy of the signed contract. Make sure you keep a copy for yourself. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Once you have all your documents, please send them together in one package via FedEx and obtain a tracking number to insure security. You will be reimbursed for this expense. Please Email us the tracking number. Address to send package: Thomas Recruiting ATTN: Andrew Room 202, 706-9, Jung Huan Sang Dong, 2 ga, Jeonju-si, Jeonbuk 560- 838 South Korea Phone: 010-5548-6672 Kind Regards, Thomas Recruiting http://www.ThomasRecruiting.com If anyone has any information about this company or any advice on this matter it would be greatly appreciated. If not, then information about whether or not these documents can be used to steal my identity or scam me in some other fashion would help. I'm a good guy looking for a decent job out of college and there is seemingly nothing available, so these offers seem more and more tempting as I near graduation. Thank you!

I too was contacted by Thomas Recruiting a couple of days ago and although it is a tempting offer, I have the same concerns. Thomas Recruiting has a website with past employee testimonials but I would feel better speaking with someone who has actually been employed there instead of just reading what they have on their...
