What kinds of corporate jobs would be a good fit for someone with a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition?

I'm getting ready to defend my dissertation, and afterwords, I'm looking for jobs near me. Having already exhausted my education leads, I'm looking to the private sector for employment. Recently, when I mentioned the possibility of trying to get a corporate job, a friend asked, "well what are you looking for?" It stumped me because I actually don't know what kinds of jobs exist in the corporate world that might need my degree. There are three corporations nearby: Raytheon, Honeywell, and Intuit. I also wouldn't rule out government work or editing in the legal field. I studied argument and writing, taught courses for the University, participated in committees, and developed curricula. Any suggestions on what might be a good fit in the white collar world?
