Is life really good in America? What should I do?

I used to work as a barker a in the carousel, in an amusement park, for Mrs Muskat. She is an old woman, and I am a young handsome man, yet we were lovers. I met Julie on the carousel, and talked to her, Mrs Muskat saw it, grew angry and dismissed me. Julie was a maid in service, and was dismissed, too, because she was late to her work from her day off when we met. By and by we got married. We had nowhere to live, so we moved in with her aunt Hollunder, into her shack (her son keeps a photographic studio). I was not happy in that house. I could not find a job, and I have never learned a trade, and old Hollunder constantly reproached me. Then my friend Fiscur invented eh... a business scheme. He even had a business plan. He told me about it, and how we could get a lot of money really soon. But it's very dangerous. Fiscur says that afterwards we should immigrate to America, that there are factories and industries there. I don't like the scheme, but I'd do anything for Julie. She is going to have a baby, and I can't find a job. Mrs Muskat asked me back, but she wanted me to sleep with her again, and I wouldn't. I am almost ready to go with Fiscur, but I am not sure: is life really good in America? If we come there with some money, round sum, and start all over, can we live good? Should I go with Fiscur's scheme? What should I do?
