Is it true that British with jobs in america?

Is it true that British people often tend to be recruited into jobs revolving around customer interaction such as bar tenders, waiters, cashiers etc? all of my friends who have/do work in america had jobs like this and (not meaning to give into media stereotype) but on films and television series british people tend to be placed into those jobs too.

All those jobs you mention pays cash, under the table - it's a way for them to avoid paying taxes. So maybe your British friends are working illegally in the US and do not have the right papers so they work in under the table jobs.

The media always portrays whitey in the worst light - really start looking at commercials and network shows. I don't know about the other - I only worked with one Brit and she was a secretary.

No. Not at all. And those are not a way to get a visa to work in the USA. Here in California, these jobs are held mainly by Hispanic people.
