You are technically primary carer ie mum, so the ctc are paid for the care clothes etc for the children, therefore you get it for kids. It is not your husbands money it is your children's. So why change the way its paid Why does it matter to him what account its paid into? I'm stay at home mum ctc paid to me. THAT WONT CHANGE no matter what. who does the shopping in your house - you. So what will happen is every time you need clothes shoes for kids you have to go cap in hand to him. Don't change the account.

If he's prepared to be responsible for feeding and clothing the children and you believe he will then what's the problem? I would be useless at that so my wife gets the child benefit.

Hello,

My benefits come to me, but I deal with pretty much all the family finances.

My husband will totally say that he is rubbish with money. I know he is from bitter experience!

I think if you are good at sorting the money out, you should do it. If he is better, then he should.

I don't spend all the money on the children though. Mine goes towards the whole family expenses. My husband does have money to spend because he earns it.

I would keep hold of the money if your husband isn't working. Why does he need money? If you are paying the bills, and the essential costs, then if he needs pocket money he can go out and earn it.

Benefits are not so generous that he can have money to spend willy-nilly!

My husband was out of work but I said if you want cash to spend then do a Betterware round. He has done and he loves it.

Wishing you all the best,

The money is for you and the child not him. If he hassles you go to the benefit office

Does it matter married money is home community money it goes for all expenses.
Unless one or the other is hording there money. and that is unfair.

The operative phrase here is "husband not working". The tax credits belong to you. Tell him to go find a job and support his family if he wants to claim the credits. He just wants free money. Mama don't play that!

It should be shared. If one claims it, the other can't. Marriage is 50/50. So whoever gets it on paper, the other should be able to share in it.

I have recently had an iterview with a staffing agency. Has anyone ever gotten a job through one? How long did it take? I know this is marriage and divorce section, but I'm assuming other than being married/divorced you must have a job too. After all marriage/divorce cost money.

True money is important (I probably make more than most men) but I have heard on this forum that men think that is all they can take to a marriage. Or they brag about their sexual prowess. Like women only want good sex (we want that and more). Is it only immature men that answer questions on marriage and divorce?

Every new generation seems to care less for marriage, and the divorce rate is still high. Is marriage slowly becoming obsolete? What are some good reasons to marry? What are some dumb reasons to marry?
