How to ask for a position in a resume?

I've just finished my first year in university for accounting and I want to find a job for the summer doing something in my field. If I were to apply to an accounting firm, how would I go about requesting for a working position? I know I'm not fully skilled yet.. so I just want to do something simple? I'm obviously not trying to apply to be a senior accountant or anything like that. Any advice would be much appreciated :)
