What are the possible charges a car driver could get for causing an accident?

A car driver hits a person riding a motorcycle. The driver of the car was not watching the road and has admitted it. The driver caused grievous bodily harm. What could they get nabbed with?

I had a friend who was the motorcycle in this scenario. The driver was charged with nothing and he wasn't able to sue her, he has over $100,000 in medical bills, lost most of his pension and almost lost his job. not enough information. Was the motorcyclist in compliance with the traffic law at the time of the collision? If he, for instance, failed to yield the right of way at an intersection and the inattentive driver hits, both are at fault.
