What is the best way to let my boss of 2 years know I'm quitting?

She has been the kindest, most wonderful boss anyone could ever ask for. I work as an office clerk. My job is really easy. My pay rate is 7.00 and has been the same since I started. There is no room for advancement or benefits. I have a 3 year old daughter. I would like a better opportunity.

Just tell her that since your daughter has been born, your situation has changed and you need to go find someplace where there are opportunities for advancement. If she's the kindest, most wonderful boss ever, she'll definintely understand, probably even be happy for you.

The best way to do it is to write a letter of resignation. If you have a close relationship, she is bound to inquire deeper and you can let her know. Tell her how you feel and that you just can't afford to work there any longer.
