How do nurses protect themselves from illness & diseases that the patients carry?

is the RN job hard? What field as a nurse is the least gross? Thanks!

There are lots and lots of standards in place. Latex or nitrile gloves, used once, frequent and thorough hand washing, clean environment, air quality (ever notice how chilly a hospital is? that's to slow bacteria, viruses, and other buggies from multiplying) and face masks and body fluid barriers when necessary. They observe precautions when working with infected patients. They also get vaccinations against certain diseases. Being a nurse is hard work. I heard they have nice protective clothes and stuff like masks, clothes that cover all of their skin, and lots of sterilization.

Health care providers are protected by gowns, masks, and washing hands properly.They also receive injections to prevent certain diseases.

we do get inoculated against some diseases. we also wash frequently wear special clothing and masks.
