What are some healthcare jobs that require little or no certification or educational training?

I'm a Pre-Healthcare student at a four-year university and I'm looking for ways to get my foot in the door of the hospital or clinical setting. I've done a little shadowing but I live a good distance from suburban areas so I've been hesitant to spend a lot of gas money on driving for simple, not-very-useful volunteer experience (giving water to patients, etc.) Any ideas would be very helpful. Fortunately you need actually training and licensure to provide healthcare services to people, contrary to the roles portrayed on television. really there isn't much you can do in a hospital w/o certification or education. unless you can get a job in admin or something. you may want to consider CNA, CMA, or Phlebotomist training that way you can work your way through college.

You can try applying for patient care tech positions. This position allows you to give total patient care (except passing meds, etc) but also gives you the opportunity to observe the nurses role in patient care in a hospital setting.
