What are some songs in which the cover/remake is better than the original?

I think: Reba Mcentire's "Fancy", is better than Bobbie Gentry's. Lenny Kravitz's "American Woman" is better than The Guess Who's. Van Halen's "You really got me" is better than The Kink's. Aerosmith's "Come together" is better than The Beatles.' Joe Cocker's remake of "little help from my friends" is better than the beatles.

Red Car Wire's "I Kissed A Girl" is way better than Katy Perry's. Framing Hanley did way better with "Lollipop" than Lil Wayne did. Check out Punk Goes Pop and Punk Goes Crunk. They have a ton of remakes and covers. I don't know if you're into that kind of music or not.

How about the Rascal Flatts remake of "Life is a Highway"? Or Eric Clapton's remake of his own song "After Midnight"? Perhaps Elton John's remake of "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds"?

I don't think they're better, but they can at least be in the same league with the original: "Wish You Were Here" (Pink Floyd) by Rasputina "Mad World" (Tears For Fears) by The Red Paintings "Stripped" (Depeche Mode)" by Shiny Toy Guns
