Senior Citizen fathers, how do your children show their respect and admiration for Fathers' Day to you?

Do they invite you to dinner? Or take you out for dinner? Do they give you a card and a present? Or do they take you somewhere, you would enjoy going, that you haven't been to in years? I just thought I'd see what they usually do on Fathers' Day. I'm not being nosy, I am hoping there are kids out there who care enough to remember their dads.

Unfortunately, they do not. I love them dearly but that's a one way street.

The daughter gets him a gift and the son came with a card and will be back to clean out the gutters for his dad since Dad and the ladder are a no=no. These two bring the kids and just drop in to visit whenever they can. This is a father that would stop at nothing for his kids and grand kids.

I used to always call my dad for Father's Day, ever since I moved out of state.

I live in Wisconsin and I have a daughter in W Virginia and a son in Alaska so I will get phone calls. I am going to Alaska in August though and my son will feed me and put me up for three weeks.

My oldest son called me today and said he was away and sorry he couldn't be with me and thanked me for being in his life. My youngest drives a semi and doesn't get home a lot so will have to wait & see about him.

I enjoy a phone call - or even an email. I hear more from grand kids than own kids.

One gave me a card early. Another has invited us over for father's day dinner. My granddaughter I expect will give me a card like she does every year. And that's where it ends. My other 4 kids will do their usual father's day thing. Nothing.
