Why don't people use the word "ennui" anymore?

Because most of them don't know what it means as they have such a limited vocabulary, due to sitting in front of a screen for hours on end.

occasionally I will use it, but the problem is that so many people's vocabulary is a short list, and those of us that use a rich and colorful vocabulary end up explaining every other word to people.
