What do you think will happen with the economy at this point?

i am confused. In the last few weeks it was all over the news that some recovery was being seen. If or one, own my business and saw a huge pick up starting June 1st (i am a recruiter for sales jobs). now world bank is predicting bad things....what do you all think will happen in the next 6-12 months? Serious answers only please.

I think we're close to the bottom, or perhaps at bottom. The real question will be the pace of recovery. Personally, I suspect we'll see a moderately quick recovery--leading indicators like the market are doing well. Of course, lagging indicators (unemployment) are just now peaking. Well, the media has the economy all wrong. There is no "real" recovery going on. For example, consumer confidence has been going up slightly, and everyone points to how that will help the economy, But of course, the media misinterpts it. The economy will continue to tank. The housing starts and sales figures have not shown any sign of getting better. Foreclosures are still at record levels and the banks have tightened their lending even further. The end is no where near. The bottom will most likely hit within the next two years. It really depends on what actions the government will take. If they let the economy fall like it should, the end will be sooner. But if the government tries to intervene it'll be awhile.
