how much is the maximum salary you can get when you become an aerospace engineer?

i wanted to become an aerospace engineer and my teacher was telling me they don't get that much..unless you have 20 years of experience and he said you start from 20,000 pound a year is that true???

Tempted to say "the sky's the limit"... It depends on your definition because "engineer" in the UK includes technicians so it's a very wide spread.
