Why do we pretend as if illegal immigration has not altered the USA economy?

I live in El Paso where thousands of housing units, TANIF checks, Support Services and the likes are given to illegals at will. Some of the best jobs are set aside just for them. UTEP, itself, hires mostly folk from Mexico. Even hispanics have difficulties getting employment there, and I am not talking about Janitorial jobs. This nation's dirty little secret is that States hire illegals to do State work. Millions of our jobs have simply been taken by illegals. Educated illegals get employed quite easily in Texas and throughout the Southwest. I personally know one who was a professor in the Engineering Department at UTEP. To date, we cannot find any of his paperwork showing citizenship. I have no doubt that there are at least eighteen million good paying jobs currently held by illegals. No one is picking tomatoes in El Paso. No one is doing work no Americans won't do. No one is seeing humble hard working illegals who work for pennies on the dollar. Whether I am purchasing furniture, pizza, clothing or grocery, those I run into in high managerial positions are generally educated illegals. THIS DEBUNK THE THEORY THAT THEY ONLY PICK CUCUMBERS AND DO MEANIAL JOBS! What would happen if all of these jobs are freed up for Americans? Would we really have a recession? Self serving politicians do not mention it, but illegal immigration have robbed us blind. Our Social Security System has been sucked dry with over countless by millions of illegals receiving SSI. It is easier to receive SSI than to get on welfare. Whenever I go to the Social Security Office, no one speaks English. One week in the country, and they know how to apply for services of all kind. Because of my job, I know this for a FACT. Truth is, we have employers who will not hire nothing but illegals. When illegals arrive at the residential facility where I work, they acquire work in less than five days. Whites, hispanics, and blacks often complain but to no avail. Again, our problem can be helped 85?f Americans were doing the work currently held by illegals.

DISCLAIMER: I am referencing illegals and not hispanics. All hispanics are not and never have been illegal. My contention is with illegals, and I will continue to speak out against it. I am keenly aware of the attempt to circumvent anyone from speaking against illegal immigration for fear of being called a racist or indifferent. This does not deter me. How can I simply shut up and watch this country that means so much to me simply be given away. When you think of all the battles, large and small, that got us here, I am truly proud to be an American!

I agree with you wholeheartedly about i****************s (of course, not the LEGAL immigrants like most of our forefathers and I'm glad you added your disclaimer).
I have a lot of the same questions as you have an no answers. What is the solution? We all - including me - have got to stop cryin' about it and come up with some real ways to solve the problem as a united, homogenous, AMERICAN population.

We don't pretend! 80?f Americans know they pump billions into the economy while working very hard.....and without any benefits. As for the rest, they just haven't done any research on the issue.

One reason for the situation you described is that not all Americans are patriots, American population is divided on RICH & middle class/poor.The wealthy Americans really do not give a sh!t about Americans poorer than therm selves, so they do employ illegals because they are cheaper than American workers. And that`s why wealthy American politicians are "turning blind eye" to all these "selling our country to illegals" corruptions. To the rich Americans (Yours truly excepted.) almighty $$ comes first before their fellow Americans & patriotism.

It's their best, false, argument. Claiming illegals pump Billions into the US economy.
$80B was wired out of the US last year. Mx got $25B. If these illegal hispanics were only doing menial jobs how in the world could they have so much money to send home. And make the claim that they pump B's into the economy. One way is they combine data regarding legal & illegal, It is common knowledge that wealthy hispanics enter the US daily and shop spending B's here.
The majority of hispanics are uneducated and unskilled leaving them at the bottom of the earnings ladder, and I am not talking field work. Construction, maintenance, landscaping. Jobs that pay well above minimum wage.
Several B was also wired into S. Am. Asian illegal & legal immigrants tend to be educated and earn a better wage. I use MX as an example as I have more Info on that.

Those of us with a brain do not pretend and are very aware of how negatively the illegal invaders have impacted our economy.

Clapping. Nice speech. I know they have an effect on the economy. With the adults going back to Mexico because of the tough economy here in Phoenix and taking their kids, we now have schools closing and teachers being laid off.

At my company we advertised for some jobs and got hundreds of workers that applied for the jobs but instead of hiring a regular American they hired someone that was brought over on a special VISA form overseas. I heard there was many qualified applicants but they wanted to pay less so they claimed there was no qualified Americans so they could get a low paid foreigner. I think in today's economy there should be a stop of all immigration. Jobs should be for Americans in today's tough economy! Agree?
