How can a Computer Genius get a job without a digree?

I am having 12 years experience for Programming in VB6 and having a very very good knowledge of computer. Now i want to have a good job. I dont have any digree. I am +2 Passed. Do you think i can get a good job then guide me. otherwise i think that i should leave computer and do business with my father's jewellery shop.

I think you need a bachelor degree to get a good job. No diploma, only get you as far as technician. I used to work in IT industry. I just think people don't pay as much as they used to be. It's a long hours job working in the IT industry with the same pay with normal hours. That's why I quit this job.

There's always a chance. If you can really demonstrate that you did some practical software development in those 12 years then the lack of education becomes less important. I would recommend learning some newer technologies like VB.NET since fewer and fewer companies are using VB6.
