How liberal is Seattle?

I'm curious about how liberal are folks there in WA state. For what I know, it looks like a cool place to live (Pro-gun, age of consent of 16, thoroughly democrat and worker's rights, pro-gay rights, religiously tolerant).Add the "no state income tax" stuff and there seems a REAL nice place to live. I'm a computer/networks technician, and I'm skilled at fixing electronics stuff, too, so I think I'm a somewhat qualified worker. I'm considering to move outta Europe when the economic meltdown is over and there are jobs again all over the US. I want to move there because your salaries double ours and the prices of stuff are around the same there for you than here for us :P Plus, climate is a bonus, I like colder climates :P, although I'm a biker, some degree of snow/mud can be fought with a good traction like those of Ural motorcycles :P. What is your take on the place? I'm pro-gun, so I find that WA is pro-gun cool. But, on workplace legislation, speech rights, and that... will it be liberal enough for the average "left-wing european social democrat?" Too liberal for my blood... I like it! Nothing is "too liberal" for me :P I think they're more pro-worker in legislation in WA than in Pennsylvania.

Um. Seattle is extremely liberal. It is a beautiful city with many different climates within an hour or so. You have skiing, water activities all close by. Too liberal for my blood though.

Fisherman, Apple Farmers and Lumberjacks of the Great Pacific Northwest are not liberals by nature. The migration of really liberal Californians has changed the landscape of everything. A short drive east over Cascade Mountains to Ellensburg and Yakima will lead you to beautiful wine and apple country... and sunshine... More
