Is my central air working properly?

I've never noticed my air doing this before so it's got me worried. When it gets really hot outside, like above 95 degrees, it's seems like my air conditioner can't keep my house cool. I have the thermostat set at 70, but during the day, it won't get below 77 in my house. Once the sun goes down and we are in bed for the night, it cools off quickly. When I get up in the mornings, it's finally 70. Is there something wrong with my air? I don't remember having this problem last year. Is it just too hot outside to keep my house cool? I hate being hot!! Any suggestion on how get the house cooler during the day?

I guess the first thing I'd do is have your unit checked for adequate freon (the working fluid). Low freon makes cooling very inefficient... More

The short answer is that your a/c is not working properly. There could be several things causing this anything from a dirty filter, blower or coil to the compressor not working efficiently. I would get an a/c tech out there to do a full inspection on the system.
