what is the highest paying automotive job?
im looking to go to school for auto, but i need to be assured that there is more opportunity out there than $7.50/hr jiffy lube job. is there any direction you can point me because i want to work on cars.

Average Diag Tech earns $20-$25 per flat rate hour in SEATTLE metro area - flat rate techs get paid by the job.lets say a brake job pays 8 tenths of an hour (48 minutes) but you learn to beat the flat rate and do them in 5 tenths (30 minutes) you get paid for 48 minutes but only work 30 my lead tech flags 100 hrs... In order to pursue this and be a mechanic you have to learn all phases of mechanics and be certified .You will need to go to school and learn.You will also need about $5,000.00 to $10,000.00 worth of tools to start with.It will take many years to be a top tech and earn good money.So get a job a jiffy lube and go to... My advice is to find a school in a different field. One that will pay more down the line. If you want to work on cars do it as a hobby and go to school for something that pays more.
