Can children with SSI benefits work without having to pay the government back?
I'm 15, and I have applied for a job. But my parents are concerned that I will have to pay back all my money if I do work, and basically work for nothing! My mom is unable to work, and that is why I receive these benefits. Please help, I might have to start working ASAP. Thanks.

If you are receiving benefits because your mother is disabled,you may work but only earn a limited amount,last I heard it was around $800 a month. Call your SS office and they can tell you the income limits for this year. If you earn more than that,they will take away one dollar of your benefits for every two dollars... More

No but the benefits do stop including your insurance. If you possibly can don't work until after you finish college so you keep full health and even get extra financial aid.
