What happens to animators if there is no film to animate?

I have been thinking about becoming a traditional(hand drawn) animator in Disney. I really like traditional animation and im pretty good at drawing and animating. What happens to animators if there is no film to animate? Also, do they use ALL of the animators in the studio or do they only pick a few of them?

well its rather obvious that like most jobs you wont be called in if there'ss no work to do, if there was still no work to do after a while theBusinesss lets say "disney" would have to make redundancies and if work stilldidn'tt pick up they would probably eventually shut down.
