How can I become a computer engineer?

I want to become a computer engineer, I'm currently learning A+ from TestOut's CompTIA's A+ program. What are the requirments of becomming a computer engineer? What math level do I need and crap like that? Where can I find a computer engineering job? (Near San Jose) Are there any programs(not books) out there that can help me? (Even ones that you have to buy) I want to be a hardware engineer, where I design parts and build them and crap.
