OK, after reading Madcat's exercise in revisionist history and fallacious nonsense, let's take each of his "accomplishments" one by one.
*1. Removed Republicans from the presidency and gave them the walloping that they deserved.
Obama removed the Presidents? We had more than one? I thought Obama was elected?
2. New jobs created as result of stimulus package
This is one of the most egregious bald-faced lies yet to emanate from the collective (intentional) lips of this administration. Unemployment has continued to rise and will continue as many of those on unemployment benefits will see their benefits expire shortly. Government jobs do not create economic wealth, they are temporary, and a single-shot puff of employment. Stimulus spending is fatally flawed and never works, because the money must first come from the very target of the supposed stimulus. It is a bastardization of Keynesian spending, and the market simply adjusts around it negatively.
As an exercise, you might want to see just where those "stimulus" dollars have been going.
3. Tax cuts for the middle class
Which averages out to less than $10 per week (on average). Obama was quoted as saying (jokingly), "So you can buy cupcakes or something..." If you wait around for someone in the middle class to hire you, you'll be waiting indefinitely.
The Bush tax cuts for the middle class will be expiring, thus a tax raise. Obama is raising taxes, not cutting them, and he will be targeting the very people in which you look to for employment the most! Buy, hey, he pronounces 'nuclear' properly.
4. Signed law protecting equal pay
Laws of this sort are redundant, and accomplish precisely the opposite of the desired result. Forcing equal pay in a position when a lower-skilled worker is hired is one of the worst forms of reverse discrimination and social engineering. People are paid by their performance, not by merit.
5. Expanding health coverage for children
By proposing major cuts in Medicare and Medicaid to pay for his Unconstitutional socialized medicine legislation. We will see massive taxes and penalties to pay for this atrocity.
6. Plan to help stabilize the housing & financial markets
Please, take the time to learn some economics. The government cannot stabilize anything by regulation, spending, or redistribution of funds. Government destabilizes the market at the best of times. The government caused the debacle by providing 100?acking on prospective sub-prime buyers (started in the 70s with the CRA)- the housing market will not recover until it takes its licks and ascertains the intentions of Congress in regards to fiscal policy.
7. Plans to end war in Iraq
The military strategists ultimately decide this, but I'll grant you this on principle.
8. Implement new strategy in Afghanistan & Pakistan
The military strategists perform this task...
9. Renewed diplomacy and engagement with friends & foes around the world.
Yes, granting violent nations the go-ahead for nuclear weapons development; countries that have openly admitted to their desire to turn all of the USA into a landfill (this predates Bush), holding hands and smooching with known violent and immoral dictators, hanging allies out to dry, etc. Nice move.
10. Working on plan to give everyone affordable health care.
Nothing says lovin' like an Unconstitutional centrally-planned control mechanism under the guise of fairness, equality, and care that has been proven to fail each and every time it's tried from the Obama oven. It's an economic impossibility - government cannot give anyone anything aside from tax relief. They function at our suffrage, by our productivity, by our income. They do not operate on a magical, mystical stream of money in the form of mana from heaven.
You can no more provide everyone with full-coverage health care than you can provide them with a beach-front 3-tier mansion. The term is scarcity; learn it.
11. Got about 300,000 more for the gov, by appointing cabinet members who owed back taxes. Ha. Had to include this.
Great. Let me know when he comes up with the $1.8-3 trillion (which is more than 4 times Bush and more than all US presidents combined), and what he "plans to do" about hyper-inflation.
12. Signed 7 major bills into law.
A list, please. Let's see how you define "major bills".
13. Making overtures to all of the countries of the world. He seems to get it.
This is a redundancy to your previous "accomplishments". Though, he definitely "gets it"; he's spent the whole of his adult life submerged in hatred for everything that makes America what it is. It's very easy to visit other countries and apologize for American exceptionalism.
13. Appointed first Hispanic (third woman) to the Supreme Court.
Here's a thought that will bake your half-baked noodle. Why not appoint a qualified person (who perhaps is female, male, or a minority) based on their skill and proven track record of impartiality and adherence to the Constitution.
14. Enacted stronger hate crimes legislation
Ahh, -stronger- hate crimes legislation. Thank God we have stronger legislation, because enforcing current law is simply out of the question. There's no such thing as a hate crime, knucklehead. It merely serves as a special interest platform for our litigious society.
15. Repeals stupid executive orders that Bush had implemented.
A list, please.
16. Gave the U.S. a real president.
While I didn't support 80?f Bush's fiscal and social policies, was he a "fake" president?
17. More countries now have more respect for the U.S., and U.S. image is getting
I hate to break it to you, but many foreign leaders (who seem to love America more than Obama) have referred to Obama as "Naive", "Incompetent", "Arrogant", and "Dangerous". While other nations are trying to move to what would resemble a Constitutional United States (both economically and socially), we're moving to what would be recognized as a European Union Member.
Wizardry of speech and dulcet tones do not equate intelligence or wisdom, grasshopper. This man is dangerous, misguided, and exhibits a (visibly subdued) hatred of America and its principles. Read his books and various writings is you refuse to believe me. You blindly elected this man, and we're paying the price for your ignorance and apathetic approach to education on the subjects in which you vote. I pity you. I pity Obama. I pity America.
“What luck for the rulers that men do not think”
“All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach.”
- Adolf Hitler
Congratulations, Madcat.
