What type of jobs can you get with an associate's degree in criminal justice?

my boyfriend, just received his associates degree in criminal justice. he wants to become a new york police officer. unfortunately, it is not going as smoothly as he imagined. i'm positive that he cannot be limited to just a police officer, what other jobs are available? he is going to keep going to school next semester for better job opportunities, but what can he do while he goes to school? i'd like to help him find something he is at least satisfied with, but being a psychology major, i have no idea where to even start...help! thank you!
