Should i go to school for piloting?

My mom keeps discouraging me about going to school for aviation. The course is two years long and over 2 years i will be paying around $55,000 . She wants me to pick something else because its very expensive, and she says it's very hard to find a job in that field. The only career i would want to do, besides pilot, is Air Traffic Control, but the closest college for that is an hour away from where i live and i can't afford to pay for my tuition and fees and live on my own at the same time. And i know if i take a loan from the bank or OSAP i will be in dept for a long time. I'm really stressed out right now. Basically I am asking, do you think if I took this aviation course (at Conestoga College) it would be hard to find a job in that field? If not, what are some good related careers? Thank You.
