How do I know what the temperature is on my Conair curling iron?

I have a Conair Steam and Shine curling iron and it only has number settings (1-20) and it doesn't tell me the actual temperature. The reason why I'm asking is because I just bout hair extensions that can withstand heat between 266-356 degrees Fahrenheit. What setting should I put my curling iron on?

Weeellllll, I see where you're coming from. I have extensions too. I always go for the highest temperature, personally, just because it gets the job done quickly. But I would stay at around 10 for your extensions, just in case, to stay on the safe side. I'm not sure how high the temperatures go. What exactly kind of... More

I wouldn't put it at the highest temperature. That might scorch your extensions. I usually use my iron at around 15-17.
