Can you help me figure out a pathway to working as an RN in the maternity field?

Okay, there are a few questions for this... 1) If I go to a community college to get an associates degree in nursing, can I work in the maternity field or do I need a bachelors for this? 2) Can I earn my associates and then INSTANTLY carry-on to my bachelors or must I wait a while? 3) What is the starting pay after an associates degree in nursing?
