Is Paul Burchill Holding Katie Lea's Career Down? *more inside*?

Ok, we all now that Katie Lea is aligned with her "brother" Paul Burchill, and she always accompanies him wherever they go. BUT, because of their storyline that failed on RAW a couple of Months ago, (according to 'sites') they BOTH end up getting sent to ECW, where literally all Katie has done so far is lose to The Bella Twins.

Now it gets me thinking, what If Katie Lea was NEVER Aligned with Paul Burchill? Do you think her career would have been any different? What do you think?

BQ: Rosa Mendez or Kelly Kelly? Who is worse?

I don't think neither Katie Lea or Paul Burchill are holding each other back. I think these two actually need each other in the company because both wouldn't be used by WWE. Katie Lea is definitely one of the most talented divas in the locker room, but she is stuck jobbing to talentless divas like the Bella Twins. Katie Lea was in the midst of of a decent push when she was feuding with Mickie James over the Women's championship, but i don't think Paul Burchill slowed her down in any way. Katie Lea is a great partner for Paul Burchill and I'm pretty sure that WWE wouldn't have used her potential because they have a tendency to push talentless divas like Kelly Kelly. Katie Lea is a great wrestler and WWE should take advantage of her talent. Her cocky arrogant gimmick would also benefit her throughout her career.

Vince McMahon was never interested in Katie Lea and she would probably be in Beth Phoenix's spot right now by constantly jobbing to divas like Kelly Kelly. Katie Lea simply doesn't look "hot" to Vince and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have pushed her. He tried her out in the beginning, but she didn't really receive much crowd reactions besides Night of Champions against Mickie James. Vince isn't even interested in pushing her and that's why she's stuck on ECW. Katie Lea was sent to the bottom after her losing to Mickie James. Katie Lea needs to be booked correctly to finally stand out. Katie Lea needs to be pushed as a big heel like McCool was to really stand out from divas. Jillian Hall is a perfect example because she is a talented diva, but she hardly makes any appearances except for her ridiculous singing gimmick. Katie lea would probably be the same with WWE using her as a joke and being with Paul at least gives her the spotlight.

Paul Burchill was already at the bottom after him and William Regal separated. Paul Burchill was a pirate and it was a silly gimmick that didn't really benefit his career. Paul also constantly jobbed to superstars like Mark Henry on Smackdown. Paul Burchill then went to Raw and introduced his sister Katie lea. She did help him occasionally in his matches, but Paul was given the opportunity to make a name for himself by taking on some opponents and having a valet. Paul was a aggressive competitor and he really proved himself in the ring. Paul Burchill has had some impressive match in the indies and he is horribly watered down. He has fantastic mat wrestling along with great high flying maneuvers, which makes him versatile in the ring. Paul Burchill hasn't slowed down Katie in anyway and it's WWE just mistreating their talent as usual.

ECW is the perfect place for them, but unfortunately, they are hardly mentioned in any of the matches or promos and they haven't been in a decent feud. They were completely overshadowed on Raw and they needed more spotlight for fan connection. They haven't been doing much on ECW and it hasn't benefited any of them. Paul Burchill has the potential to be a main eventer on ECW if he was booked correctly. Paul could feud with some top faces like Tommy Dreamer and Christian in some good matches. Katie Lea doesn't have anything to compete for because there is no women's championship in ECW. Katie Lea is stuck on ECW jobbing to the Bella twins. If it wasn't for her being a valet to Paul, i can see her getting released.

BQ: Rosa Mendez because she was an average wrestler in OVW, but she has done horrible in the WWE. Kelly Kelly meanwhile has shown no improvement in her years with the WWE. Michelle McCool wasn't that good in the beginning either and i would wait for Rosa to see how she does. Kelly Kelly has improved, but she still isn't as great. Kelly kelly is annoying in my opinion. Rosa is still training and i won't say anything about her until she is at her best. Kelly Kelly hasn't been training at all and thinks she can get away with her current wrestling ability. Kelly Kelly just screams a lot and although she has improved from being a simple bikini model, she is not a good wrestler.

I believe it's Katie Lea holding down Paul's Career. He's not going anywhere with The Bella's storyline.

I think the wwe is just holding both their careers down. they are both equally underrated and not getting over with the crowd and both rarely wrestles. its not like paul burchill was a top superstar and all of a sudden got with katie lea and his career started slipping. he was a flop way before katie lea with that pirate gimmick.

its like katie lea and paul burchill were made to be together because they are underrated so why not put them together? like i said they both are both equally underrated one of them isnt doing better then the other. its sad that wrestlers like paul burchill and katie lea has to take backseats.

they both are great athletes and deserves a push but the wwe isnt giving it to them and they arent over with the crowd. the wwe can shove them down our throats like they do other wwe superstars but they dont want too its sad. so no katie lea isnt holding his career down its the wwe.

bq:kelly kelly is way worst. rosa mendez was pretty ok in the indies especially with her being a ovw womans champion but as soon as she came to the wwe she was a complete flop. all she does is grab hair and pull and do a few little body drops and kicks she does suck but it doesnt get any worst then kelly kelly. this girl has to be jobbed to 24/7. she makes ever move look fake and she botches too d**n botch those stupid orgasmic headscizzors, botched kicks and those flips its so annoying.

Katie Lea has been wrestling for nine years and had a pretty promising career in the UK.
When the WWE signed her I was really stoked, hoping she would make a big splash over here, but it seems the WWE has no idea of what to do with a female wrestler that wasn't a bikini model before wrestling.
So I don't think Katie is holding Paul down or Paul is holding Katie down.
I think the WWE is holding BOTH of them down.

Katie Lea is just jobbing to The Bella Twins.
She's been a Women's Champion before either in the WWE or some other single Wrestling society.

Katie Lea would be like a british Victoria, except probably not as brutal.

BQ: Rosa.

Unfortunatley, if Katie Lea was NEVER aligned with Paul Burchill, I think she would have been fired already. WWE doesnt care for talented women wrestlers. Vince would rather put the Womens title on a model then an ACTUAL wrestler. I think Katie Lea would be WAY better off in TNA because TNA ACTUALLY cares about their women wrestlers. In fact, Paul Burchill would also be better off in TNA. I don't think whether she is aligned with him or not has ANY affect on her WWE Career. Because WWE would use her as a jobber anyways because she's not a "model".

BQ: They both suck in wrestling ability. But I will say Kelly because at least she is hot. Rosa is a terrible wrestler and she's ugly.

I think it's wwe that is holding their carrerrs down(like the second answer above said). Also everyone hasn't forgotten Paul Burchils "Pirate Gimmick" as it really hurt him. Wwe tried to rebuild Snitsky, but the "foot licking" thing hurt him to ever get a push.

Wwe has too much talent, and it's hurting them. Having too many things on your chore list is very unhealthy.

4 tv shows is also bad; it's good to have other wrestlers to get tv time, but it doesn't help the viewers. I have yet to watch Superstars, and have watched very little of Smackdown, Raw, and Ecw.

Wwe really needs to trim the fat down.

BQ: By judging their names. Both are overrated in the ring.

Well look at Jillian Hall, bad gimmick rarely ever seen unless its to sing... something no one wants to see. Katie Lea's fate would be pretty much the same, bad gimmick rarely seen, without Paul Burchill. They didn't get over on Raw but on ECW they are being given a fair chance, if Paul Burchill gets over the way his talent should and he takes Katie Lea with him then that's better for both of them, they do need each other at the moment to get over with the crowd... that's pretty much what ECW is for for people in the position of the Burchills. I can't see the WWE using her compared with the pretty models they like to push so Katie Lea would have been pretty much a forgotten diva with a shit gimmick doing little, at least she's on TV more often than not... that's better than Jamie Noble and Jillian Hall get.

BQ: Rosa Mendez is still training down at FCW, she's improving slowly but she is in the middle of training... Kelly Kelly however isn't still working at the devolpment as a trainee, she is the finished artical... Kelly Kelly is worse because she's not doing more to become a wrestler, she could work at FCW if she wanted to improve but she doesn't.

I think they're both holding each other back, think the storyline shouldn't have been done for either them. They've now both been plonked on ECW and neither of them have overly shown up that often for long periods of time and Paul has been left the least because he can't fight the stupid Bella Twins.
I think her fighting the Bella Twins sucks. I know she's a good wrestler, it's a shame that she's been stuck with such a lame storyline time and time again and is stuck on the worst brand. I think it would've been better if they didn't do the brother and sister storyline and that they should've pushed Katie Lee as an singles wrestler, didn't give her that many chances. She hasn't been given that much of a push and it's unfair to have her on the worst brand and not showing up virtually ever, plus there's no title for her to even have a goal on and there's no one else to fight. If she had a fair push and things then I think she would've had a good career. The Bella Twins story plot of switching places to win is getting really old and quick, so boring to watch!

BQ- Kelly Kelly. You look at her and she's a guide of pointless and useless 101.

It was okay when they first came to Raw. Katie Lea had her title push against Mickie which was pretty decent and Burchill had his IC title push (against Kennedy?). And they always showed up in the others feud so they both had quite a bit of promotion. In that way they were good that they were together.

But after those were done it's like nothing else happened. My memory is funny but I believe Paul was in a feud that nobody cared about and Katie was there but all the same not there. ECW was the worst thing that could've happened. There's nothing for Katie Lea there and nothing for Paul so really, having them together isn't as effective. ECW and Smackdown are linked so hopefully Katie starts appearing with Melina and Natalya and Michelle.
Answered By: bobbo - 8/18/2009
I don't think Katie Lea would have really gotten far either way, to be honest. It sounds absurdly crude to say this, but Katie Lea doesn't have the raw sexual magnetism that Vince wants. Honestly, when it comes down to it, the men are still obsessed with the silicone infested women with the day-glo orange skin and platinum blonde hair.

Not all men, to be fair, but a good enough portion that Vince isn't going to listen to reason. Katie has seemed to try to sex up her image by adding on the flamboyant makeup and the skin-tight leather outfits.

But you are right about being held back by Paul. Paul was never popular to begin with. He's not popular now, and honestly, I don't see it changing. Eventually, I think it'll lead to his ultimate release. And where does that leave Katie? She can't stay on ECW to feud with the Bella twins forever. That's certainly a terrible option considering how the Bellas are a huge waste of space in the WWE.

Katie Lea needs to break away from Paul Burchill and move to Smackdown. It's hard to determine whether she should be a heel or a face. Considering Smackdown's Diva roster, (Michelle McCool, Eve Torres, Maria, and Natalya) that leaves two heels and two faces. Maria never wrestles and Natalya is primarily focused on being with the Hart Dynasty.

It'd be good for Katie to come into Smackdown as a face, I think. She could have a feud with Michelle for the title. It'd be a good match.

BQ: ....That's an impossibly hard question. Rosa and Kelly both annoy me in different ways. While they both annoy me with their lack of wrestling ability, Kelly annoys me with the bloody screams, and Rosa annoys me with her boob shake. Rosa seems far more conceited than Kelly, to be honest.

I think Rosa is annoying me more. At least with Kelly, she turned down Playboy to focus on wrestling. If she wanted to, she could have bailed on wrestling whenever she wanted and become a famous model.

Rosa comes out trying to act like Maryse's character, except you can tell that it's not a character. She comes out literally thinking she is the sexiest woman on earth. She shakes her boobs and I even saw Mickie James giving her a look like "w*f?" before their match. Rosa has zero wrestling ability and she looks like a transexual snake.

I know my question is sort of like telling you to pick your own poison. I've seen wrestling companies big and small come and go. And seen wrestling careers start and end in just a handful of years. I can imagine the huge debt burden for a promoter if his company does poorly. And for a wrestler the travel expenses is the stressful part of that life. But which wrestling job is harder based on risk and reward?

So today I went in for an interview and I was going in for the 2nd interview by the head chief executive. now this is where it got weird, so she asked me about my previous jobs and said how much she liked that product over that product. then she started talking about her daughter? an her divorce ...then how she didn't finish college because she was making more money doing what she did for this company ... then she talked about how her teenage daughter is a handful... I just played it cool thinking she was using some sort of psychology thing to trick me into saying something stupid. the interview ended and she seemed happy an I was escorted to the door... now I'm freaking confused? is this normal behavior for an executive? like it felt like she was going to burst into tears at one point and tell me her life problems... is this normal? was she trying to see how I react or something?

Basically- no degree, although I have tried completing one in the past and stopped because of physical and mental health issues which were overwhelming to deal with along with going to classes full time. I'm not stupid and I am quite articulate. I am 23 and have only worked for about two years retail in high school and stopped working to go to university. I worked a few months in 2010 retail after I dropped out but it was only a seasonal position, and the only reason why I have not been able to constantly work is because of mental health issues. I had also tried going back to community college during my free time since i left university in 2008/9 and I had panic attacks while in community college, which made my anxiety worse from then on. Well recently I met a good doctor and he prescribed me some meds that are stabilizing my moods and I feel the best I've felt in years, and I'm ready to work. Thing is, I don't know how to get a job now since I've spent literally years being depressed and anxious doing nothing. I don't really have anything to put on my resume, and I never finished my AA degree either. All I've done is cashiering and although I do the job well and I get promoted easily when I do these jobs because I'm a hard worker and I try to go above and beyond what they ask of me,which is the attitude I have no matter what kind of work I'm doing as long as I'm getting paid. But I hate cashiering because it's too easy and I want a job that is more interesting. Any suggestions for me on how to get a job that is NOT Retail with the type of background I have right now? I also realize I have to go to college to get certain types of jobs, I am talking about what I can do right here right now.

I seriously can't get my head around it why, why unprofessional people who have no work ethics being selected over me, whereas I have a track record of excellent performance and never shy away from any work my manager ask me to do? I am at my lowest point and not getting hold of my manager to ask the question why not me, why them who can't even bother? So I have a nice white button up shirt, business skirt and pants, and a suit jacket. I'm applying for a software development job and I'm very short and can look young so I'm trying to look adult, yet professional. I'm also attractive so I'm trying not to look too sexy. For the career fair I'm thinking of wearing just my nice shirt and a skirt with low heels. My reasoning being it's approachable and attractive without going overboard since the career fair hosts are mostly younger male recent grads. I want to be remembered but not intimidating. For my interviews I was thinking pants, suit jacket (power suit). My reasoning being it'll be older execs and HR people (mostly women) so less sexy with the pants but more powerful with the suit jacket. What do you think?!

But since it is a case study, we will be on group, we will be four i think. Project manager, Analyst, Documentation, and the programmer. I am asking what jobs i can get after graduating I.T. because what if i graduated I.T. and still not that good at coding, i am hoping that there will be a jobs that will require less programming. I'll be taking Programming HTML in 10th grade (I'm in 9th right now). My school offers Java, C++, Programming HTML, Graphic Communications, Robotics, CAD, and Game Design. I am taking courses not only because I want to fulfill credits, but to also test out some things and see what I like. I'm asking this in Careers because I was wondering what careers involve any of these and if they are good jobs. My cousin got me a little interested in computers because she has her Ph.D from University of Maryland, went to UMBC, taught at Carnegie Mellon, worked at IBM, and currently has a job at Microsoft (she works with human- computer interaction) I was curious, what are some good careers in Computer Science? Are these courses good ones to take to see if I like them? How much can you make in Computer Science careers? None of my decisions for the future are concrete and I do not only look at the money in anything so please, no assumptions unless you know me. I just want to have an idea of what to do and I have plenty of time. I love to help people which is why I am looking into medical careers as well. I'll be taking an AIDS research course in a few years and I'm taking a Child Development course in case I really do wish to be a Psychologist some day (Some other careers I have thought about are Hematologist, Dermatologist, Neurosurgeon, attorney, etc. I really would love to cure my parents who have Sickle Cell and Fibromayalgia but I know how Pharmaceutical Companies are.Treatment makes more than cure) t********s to anyone who can answer and help me out (Point gaming is pretty pointless. Two points vs ten? Which is more?) Thank you! I get good grades. Honor roll, honor student, I study hard and I keep to myself a lot so I have a lot of time to study. I'm cyber schooled because of how awful my old school was (kids bullied me. To the point where I could have died but teachers didn't care because my parents aren't friends with the teachers from high school. So, I just had to suffer. They lied to my parents and eventually, we just couldn't take it anymore. I got sick of defending myself against boys anyway. Thank God I'm into Martial Arts). I have been here for 4 going on 5 years and I love it! Peace and quiet....most of the time. I still live in a small town and the bullying just continues. So I have to be completely alone to escape it. Life will be better when I move to Canada. Also what you do is very interesting! Thank you very much! I can only take HTML this upcoming school year. Then the other courses become available throughout the years. I can't choose whether C++ comes before Java. It's not all available right away. It becomes available grade by grade. I heard people say $70,000 wasn't a good salary before and that really confused me. My cousin makes that much and she traveled to Spain, France, Atlanta and California recently. I think it is all interesting. New tech always did intrigue me and my mother. I'm just dipping a toe in first though. Just in case, when I go to college, my freshman year will be undecided to sit in on some more classes. I'll see what I like, this a lot, Thank you! Oh by the way, the C++ course is actually a C++ AND Java course! It's all in one. That's helpful :)
