Biblically can women work in the ministry?

I'm almost in college and looking at Liberty University and get a bachelor's in youth ministry. First of all, in a baptist setting do they allow women to work in the ministry other than as a secretary or office aid. I want to work with students particularly but not as a youth pastor. Secondly, is this uncommon? Will I be able to find a job? I think this is what God is calling me to do, but I need some help before I can make this huge step.

My wife says the same thing. shes a deacon. But respectfully God is against it. Women are too emotional and here and there if you know what i mean. In the bible it says what it takes for a man to be a preacher and deacon. It says its a shame for a woman to open her mouth in church. And a woman should not userp... More

Depends on the denomination. Some Baptists allow it, some don't. Of course you'd be able to get a job. And yes, biblically women can work in the ministry. Phoebe (Romans 16) was a deaconess, after all.

Listen - God did not write the bible - men did. God created men and women equally and I think you will be a wonderful addition to the ministry. If you look back at the church and do some research, you will find a lot of reasons why women were not allowed in - and it isn't because God said so... More
