Why don't I ever get praise at work?
I work at a museum and the managers were having auditions for a new exhibit coming out. All of us (tour Guides) have to come in and talk in very distinct British accents to get accepted. Anyways, I REALLY wanted to pass the audition! I worked day and night studying my accent to make sure it was perfect. A girl named Lisa on my team also was auditioning. When I asked her how badly she wanted to be in the new exhibit, she told me "Oh it doesn't really matter to me. I'm not going to care if I don't make it." When they announced who made it in, Lisa made it and I didn't! I was quite p****d off. First of all, I don't get how if Lisa didn't really care if she made it, she made it anyways. Yet I really studied my *** off and got told no! Lisa always seems to get promotions at work, yet is so annoyingly humble about everything I cringe when ever they give her employee of the month, pat her on the back for a great tour, etc. I never get any of these things! I know I sound spoiled, but Lisa always tells me she doesn't care about praise at work, yet ALWAYS GETS IT! Me on the other hand- I love praise. Yet I never get any. Can someone please explain why Lisa gets all the praise if she doesn't act like she cares, and I'm vise versa? And don't judge me either! I want honest answers, not people bashing me for being a sore loser. I want honesty here.

you know what ur problem is? ur problem is that you are always comparing yourself to lisa, u need to stop worrying about her and try to excel in what you do regardless of the praise and or reward, give your 100 percent and forget about what others do or not do... More

She is probably prettier than you or something. Yes people are that shallow.

Because your a cybernut. And a bit of a crybaby, you should stand in the corner for ten minutes and go to bed with no chocolate. Maybe it will help but probably not because you blame all of your problems on black people.

Is Lisa attractive/sexy, and your managers male? That could be one reason. Or maybe in trying so hard, you come across as pressed or something--and since she doesn't care, she comes across as relaxed and easy going? Hard to know without more information...
