Is it a good idea to ask your volunteer coordinator for a job?
So I've volunteered at this organization for two summers. Now I'm looking for a real job. I believe they do offer employment opportunities. Would if be an appropriate thing to ask my volunteer coordinator about a job and possibly get her to refer me to the job if things goes accordingly?

Yes. That would be a good idea and also ask her if she knows other organizations with openings if hers doesn't have one immediately. Does the organization have a web site that you can check out career opportunities? Also check to see it they have a Human Services Dept. that posts job openings that you can check out first. With the way things are these days don't expect to much as many positions that you may qualify for 100 others may also apply. So... More
