On my next disability review, will I be ineligible to continue on SSI if my symptoms decrease significantly?
I'm currently on SSI, no job, and I am diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. I'm worried that I'll lose my benefits because my symptoms might have decreased significantly by my next social security disability review. Is this a problem for me and is this common among other recipients of SSI who have mental illness? Thanks.

In a review you have to see a doctor to be evaluated. If the doctor finds you significantly improved and feels you would be able to go to work then possibly yes. If you feel you have not improved enough to go to work than you can challenge the results the doctor found and see another doctor. I don't know if you have... More

Thank goodness your situation is improving. Keep striving forward with the flow. SSI is minimal subsistence on the tax payer's back. is there any chance you can get a job and start paying your own way? Are there any educational opportunities you can pursue? Maybe the case worker has some info on educational grants... More
