How come jobs under the field of art are harder?

why artists, musicians, dancers, authors, actor, director, etc are that much harder to have a career in? is it because the whole idea behind all of these jobs is always being constantly critiqued? its way harder to support yourself if you are for an example an artist than if you were rather lets say a lawyer. whats your take on this?

because art as a job produces intangibles. it only produces the abstract like entertainment, visual satisfaction, senses stimulation which must satisfy a majority of people. the "product" of an artist is "felt". making people feel your art is hard enaf, making people like your craft makes it even harder.
